Tongariro North Domain

With over 2.5 hectares of green space and located close to the town centre, the Tongariro North Domain is an excellent space for outdoor exhibitions and events. Located adjacent to the Great Lake Centre it is an ideal venue for events that require an indoor and outdoor space.

Being a large, flat, open area the domain is ideal for large marquees. Power and water supplies are available. Previous events have included: NZ Ironman, Circus Aotearoa, Mahons Amusements, the New Balance Great Lake Relay and the Taupo Home and Garden Show.

Amphitheatre

The Amphitheatre is located beside the Tongariro Domain on the banks of the Waikato River. A picturesque setting, with large mature trees, the grassed amphitheatre provides seating for approximately 15,000 people and has an outdoor stage.

This venue is home to regular community events including our popular Carols in the Park and New Years Eve Concerts. The Amphitheatre has also hosted the More FM Winery Tours with top NZ stars such as Bic Runga, Tim Finn, Dave Dobbyn, Gin Wigmore and Stan Walker as well as international headline bands.

Riverside Park

Located next to the Amphitheatre and Tongariro Domain, Riverside Park is on the banks of the Waikato River surrounded by mature trees. A picturesque venue ideal for an outdoor concert or small event. Support services are available from the Great Lake Centre.

Taupo Rose Gardens

The Joan Williamson Rose Garden is located within the South Tongariro Domain. Surrounded by beautiful antique annual and perennial roses, this is a popular wedding venue. After the ceremony, guests can wander over to the Great Lake Centre for the reception.

The Ora Garden courtyard, located next door to the Rose Gardens offers a unique outdoor venue for small wedding groups. An ideal venue during the warmer months.
