About Te Mataapuna

Te Mataapuna is a new sporting and community facility serving the people of Tūrangi and its surrounding areas.

Opened in May 2023, the facility is located at Tūrangitukua Park and boasts six substantial changing rooms, a separate referee’s area and a large, multi-purpose indoor space with kitchen and toilet facilities. The venue offers versatility and flexibility making it the ideal choice for your next event.

Facilities

Meeting / Function Space

Suitable for a variety of requirements and able to cater for up to 200 people, the function space at Te Mataapuna is a popular venue with local community organisations. The facility is used during sports days, for meetings and presentations, as well as hosting larger events.

The main 237m2 space can also be divided into two, creating two distinct spaces of 136.5m2 and 100.5m2. Attached to the main clubroom is a large kitchen and toilet facilities. Seating and tables are also available in the facility.

Flexible changing rooms with showers and toilets

Te Mataapuna has six changing rooms with showers and toilets, made up of two large and four small changing rooms. The four smaller changing rooms have a dividing wall that is removable, so the venue can be setup to offer four large changing rooms if required. The changing rooms also have a separate referee’s room available.
