Election results
The Taupō District Council election was for the mayor and 11 councillors, including one from the newly established Taupō East Rural ward, seven from the Taupō ward and two from Turangi/Tongariro. No election was required for the Mangakino-Pouakani Ward as one nomination was received for the one vacancy.
There was also an election for the Turangi/Tongariro Community Board which includes two members from the Tongariro subdivision. No election was required for the Turangi town subdivision as four nominations were received for the four vacancies.
