Whakamaru reticulated water extension

Background

Parts of Whakamaru are not currently supplied with council treated drinking water. Following requests for connection, and the potential health benefits of council-treated drinking water being made available, council is proposing a project to provide a new water main to connect the remaining parts of Whakamaru.

We are seeking feedback from affected ratepayers and occupiers on whether they think the Whakamaru water supply network should be extended and whether you are likely to choose to connect.

Decision

Council held hearings on 31 May 2022 to discuss the feedback from the community and make a decision on whether to extend the reticulated water network in Whakamaru.
