Evidence suggests that the current supply of industrial land in Taupō is reaching capacity and we need additional land to support industrial growth.
We are proposing a Plan Change to rezone land to either Taupō or Centennial Industrial Environment.
Options being considered for rezoning are shown in the map below.
Analysis suggests that there is adequate industrial land elsewhere in the district.
Most of the land being considered as part of the plan change is identified in the Taupō Urban Commercial and Industrial Structure Plan (2011). Other areas have been selected due to their proximity to existing industrial zoned land and the East Taupō Arterial.
We will carry out an assessment to look at the advantages and disadvantages of each of the potential sites and then make a selection. But in the meantime if you have any thoughts then let us know.
