Strategic Partnership Fund

Things to know

• Up to $300,000 per year is available to be distributed across up to five groups.
• Agreements under this fund last for three years and may be renewed following Council’s long-term planning process where strategic priorities are determined.
• Applicants must demonstrate eligibility and alignment to at least one of Council’s community funding priorities as well as evidencing the support it can provide Council to achieve key strategic outcomes (listed below).

Application checklist

Before starting your application, take a look at this checklist of information you will need to provide and questions to be answered:

• Have you submitted all accountability reports for previous funding from Council?
• What is the purpose and vision of your organisation?
• For what purpose are you seeking a strategic partnership?
• What is your three year plan that outlines the support you will provide to Council to achieve its strategic goals?
• Do you have a copy of your organisations latest financial accounts?
• Do you have a pre-printed bank deposit slip? This must clearly show the organisation name along side the account number.
• Do you have relevant supporting information? This can include cover letters or photographs.

Council’s key strategic outcomes

Council is seeking strategic partners to support in the following five priority areas:

Sport, recreation and reserves planning

• Plan for the future of our district’s sport and recreational facilities, reserves, and parks.
• Support recreation and sports organisations to collaborate and to be sustainable.

Arts, culture and ngā toi

• Plan for the future of our district’s cultural art facilities, venues, and opportunities for communities.
• Support the development and capability of resilient arts, culture and ngā toi communities across the district.

Climate risk

• Protect our district’s natural ecosystems.
• Connect people to and educating them about nature.
• Plant trees and undertake native revegetation programmes.

Community well-being

• Provide social service networking opportunities.
• Facilitate opportunities that build capability and capacity for community organisations.
• Support social service community organisations to collaborate.

Sustainable transport choices

• Support Taupō to be the most cycle friendly place in New Zealand.
• Educate and encourage people, including rangatahi, to use sustainable transport options.
• Maintain cycling tracks across the district to provide economic opportunities for the district.

Things to know after you apply

Confirmation and decision

• After submitting your online application for funding, you’ll receive an automated email to confirm your application has been received.
• Following the closing date of applications, if relevant, a member of our team will be in contact with you if you indicated you wish to present your application to decision makers.
• You will receive an email in due course notifying you of the outcome of your application and payment will be arranged from there.
• Successful applicants will be required to submit an accountability report evidencing spending and funding outcomes.
