Long-term Plan adopted

After a huge amount of feedback (1418 submissions) and two full days of deliberating, our councillors have made important decisions on our Long-term Plan.

Hearings and deliberations

Community groups, organisations and individuals who asked to speak to their submissions participated in hearings held in Taupō and Tūrangi on 29-30 July. This was followed by deliberations which took place on 31 July and 1 August.

Hearings and deliberations were open to the public.

Submissions

Submissions on the draft Long-term Plan closed at 4.30pm Monday 8 July 2024. Thank you for all of the feedback received. Copies of all submissions received along with a list of submitters (A-Z index) are available below along with the Submission Response Report.

Looking after the place we love

It’s time to look ahead and decide on our priorities for the next 10 years.

Every three years Taupō District Council develops a Long-term Plan that sets the direction and budget for a 10 year period. The Long-term Plan process supports the community and council to make decisions about where best to put council’s time and the community’s money.
